Summary

From Mary Kay Andrews, the New York Times bestselling author of Hello, Summer, comes a novella celebrating the magic of Christmas and second chances in The Santa Suit

When newly-divorced Ivy Perkins buys an old farmhouse sight unseen, she is definitely looking for a change in her life。 The Four Roses, as the farmhouse is called, is a labor of love—but Ivy didn't bargain on just how much labor。 The previous family left so much furniture and so much junk, that it's a full-time job sorting through all of it。

At the top of a closet, Ivy finds an old Santa suit—beautifully made and decades old。 In the pocket of a suit she finds a note written in a childish hand: it's from a little girl who has one Christmas wish, and that is for her father to return home from the war。 This discovery sets Ivy off on a mission。 Who wrote the note? Did the man ever come home? What mysteries did the Rose family hold?

Ivy's quest brings her into the community, at a time when all she wanted to do was be left alone and nurse her wounds。 But the magic of Christmas makes miracles happen, and Ivy just might find more than she ever thought possible: a welcoming town, a family reunited, a mystery solved, and a second chance at love。

This was such a fun story revolving around an old Santa Suit。 Newly divorced, Ivy, moves into an old farmhouse that isn't exactly what she was expecting。 Luckily her real estate agent lives close by and offers to help her out。 When she find the old Santa Suit, along with a note in the pocket, she decides to investigate who wrote the note and if the Christmas wish came true。This book gives you all the feels and is perfect for setting the mood for the holiday season。 I would love to see it made in This was such a fun story revolving around an old Santa Suit。 Newly divorced, Ivy, moves into an old farmhouse that isn't exactly what she was expecting。 Luckily her real estate agent lives close by and offers to help her out。 When she find the old Santa Suit, along with a note in the pocket, she decides to investigate who wrote the note and if the Christmas wish came true。This book gives you all the feels and is perfect for setting the mood for the holiday season。 I would love to see it made into a Hallmark movie。 A great story with wonderful characters。 。。。more

Sweet story! Ivy, recovering from a divorce, buys an old farm house - sight unseen! With a handsome real estate/handyman helping her at every turn she starts her new life right before Christmas。 She finds friendship, belonging and maybe even love and it is helped along the way by a Santa Suit she finds in a closet。 Magic! ❤️

I hate that i loved this book。 Literally on Page 2 a very clear "love interest" joined the storyline, and i really rolled my eyes。 I hate Hallmark movies。。。。why am i continuing to read this?! Alas, there were many things I enjoyed about this book despite myself - so much Christmas spirit, a cute little town, great relationship-building between generations, a mystery, a lot of nostalgia, and actually not TOO much mushy crap。。。。。。or maybe i just read it at just the right time。 Super quick read。。。a I hate that i loved this book。 Literally on Page 2 a very clear "love interest" joined the storyline, and i really rolled my eyes。 I hate Hallmark movies。。。。why am i continuing to read this?! I loved this book, filled with all things Christmas, the characters are so real, the old house, the old furniture, the Christmas stroll, makes you feel like you want to be there。 Touches your heart, makes you laugh, makes you want to cry。 Well done Mary Kay Andrews, you gave us a story we can remember for a long time。 Gotta give hugs to Punkin to。

I received a complimentary digital review copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review。I picked up The Santa Suit after enjoying another book by this author。 It was exactly what I was expecting for a Christmas romance and I was overall happy with the book for the majority of the time I was reading。This book follows main character Ivy, who has gotten divorced in the past year and decided to buy an old farmhouse in a small town completely different from where she was to st I received a complimentary digital review copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review。I picked up The Santa Suit after enjoying another book by this author。 It was exactly what I was expecting for a Christmas romance and I was overall happy with the book for the majority of the time I was reading。This book follows main character Ivy, who has gotten divorced in the past year and decided to buy an old farmhouse in a small town completely different from where she was to start a new chapter。 There's a love interest, some Christmas cheer etc。Early in the book, Ivy starts renovating the farmhouse she has purchased and notices one of the doors have what looks like a mezuza on it。 This is a little weird in the book, because we learn that the people who lived her previously were the epitome of Christmas, having the most decorated house, dress up as Santa and Mrs。 Claus every year, but I let it slide to see where the story was going。Then, right at the end of the book, when everything is revealing itself a conversation occurs between Ivy and her love interest about how he had been looking into the history of the farm house, and wouldn't you know the people who lived here were Jews。 From there the book concludes by talking about all the Chsirtmassey things that the couple had done and how great it had been from the community。As a Jewish reader, I do not understand why this needed to be included。 Why do you need to have the two people who are the epitome of Christmas to this town be Jewish, but give no explanation for why they are observant of one Jewish custom (mezuza) but then celebrate the holiday that pretty much overturns the whole religion? Overall it felt like adding this in was trying to make it seem like the only important holiday is Christmas and all religions need to follow it。Have you read this book? Did I miss something important? 。。。more

This was not what I was expecting based on my prior experiences with Andrews books。 They were positive, but there was something really special about this story。 I have been hitting the holiday books hard because I am seeking the warm and fuzzy feels, and Andrews really delivered that with this story。 It was so darn sweet and charming, and yes, there were some happy tears shed as my heart expanded reading this lovely story。 BLOG | INSTAGRAM |TWITTER | BLOGLOVIN | FRIEND ME ON GOODREADS This was not what I was expecting based on my prior experiences with Andrews books。 They were positive, but there was something really special about this story。 I have been hitting the holiday books hard because I am seeking the warm and fuzzy feels, and Andrews really delivered that with this story。 It was so darn sweet and charming, and yes, there were some happy tears shed as my heart expanded reading this lovely story。 BLOG | INSTAGRAM |TWITTER | BLOGLOVIN | FRIEND ME ON GOODREADS 。。。more

For a [very] short story, The Santa Suit fits the bill。 However, I think Mary Kay Andrews can do far better 。 。 。 and has。The story is cute enough, but the plot, if there is a main one, is muddled。 There is no depth to the story or to most of the characters, and certainly not in the romantic leads。 I think The Santa Suit would have made a great full novel in which there would be time to develop a more cohesive plot and time to really develop characters, especially those alluded to, in depth。 The For a [very] short story, The Santa Suit fits the bill。 However, I think Mary Kay Andrews can do far better 。 。 。 and has。The story is cute enough, but the plot, if there is a main one, is muddled。 There is no depth to the story or to most of the characters, and certainly not in the romantic leads。 I think The Santa Suit would have made a great full novel in which there would be time to develop a more cohesive plot and time to really develop characters, especially those alluded to, in depth。 There is such plot line treasure in so many of the subplots that MKA could have mined。You aren't entirely wasting your time with The Santa Suit if you need to relax with a quick and easy Christmas read。 3 Stars 。。。more

Fun Christmas themed read。 Girl moves to small country, befriends everyone, falls in love after divorce, and rediscovers her Christmas spirit。 It’s like a hallmark movie book。 Although the emphasis on how little she eats and weight loss was annoying。

I opened my holiday reading with a bang! The Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews is heartwarming and perfect for the season。 I loved Ivey and her strength in taking a chance to start over, deciding what she wanted and going after it。 How many people would decide they want to buy a farm, away from everything, then purchase it sight unseen? That has the potential for going very wrong, and while things do, she finds more strength and purpose。 When she finds the Santa Suit and the note, her heart and cur I opened my holiday reading with a bang! I purchased this book to donate it to my local library after I had finished reading it。 The book was written by one of my favorite authors。 The story was cute and did have the "Christmas spirit" in it。 I think I had figured out just about everything right before the author would reveal the end to that part of the story line。 This author is entertaining for me。 I do plan to encourage others to read this book。 I purchased this book to donate it to my local library after I had finished reading it。 The book was written by one of my favorite authors。 The story was cute and did have the "Christmas spirit" in it。 I think I had figured out just about everything right before the author would reveal the end to that part of the story line。 This author is entertaining for me。 I do plan to encourage others to read this book。 。。。more
